Koh Larn island near Pattaya Thailand

An alternative to the not-so-clean water in Pattaya is the island of Koh Larn, seven kilometers from Pattaya, which can be reached with a 30-minute boat ride from Pattaya.

On Koh Larn there is crystal clear water, fine white sandy beaches and many beach restaurants. Comfortable sun loungers that can be rented for 100 baht / day are plentiful on the beaches. The small island is particularly popular with Russian and Chinese tourists, who flock to the island in their hundreds every day by ferry.

When the ferry docks at the pier on Koh Larn, dozens of moped taxis are waiting for wealthy customers to drive tourists to the beaches of Koh Larn. Ta Waen Beach and Samae Beach are among the most beautiful beaches on Koh Larn, but unfortunately also the most crowded. Ferries from Pattaya also go directly to Tawaen Beach.
