With around 5.21 million inhabitants in the actual city and 5,998,000 inhabitants in the agglomeration, Yangon is the largest city and the industrial center of the country. Up until 2005, Rangoon was the capital of Myanmar; the seat of government was then moved to Naypyidaw.
